The Duval

The Duval is a thoughtfully designed 46-unit condominium completed in 2011 in Saanich's desirable Royal Oak neighbourhood. This four-storey wood-frame building was created through a collaboration between Continuum Architecture—Victoria's oldest continuously operating architectural firm, established in 1910—and Mike Geric Construction, a family-owned builder with over 55 years of experience in Greater Victoria.

The building's design responds sensitively to its natural setting, preserving a mature stand of Garry oaks that now serves as a landscaped internal courtyard with planters, feature paving, and a gazebo. Adjacent to The Duval stands a beautifully restored heritage schoolhouse, originally built in 1885, which has been repurposed into a popular neighbourhood bakery and café—a unique amenity for residents.
